Audiologists are university-trained allied health professionals governed by the Allied Health Professions Act 2016 (Act 774). They specialize in non-invasive diagnostic hearing assessments, earwax microsuction, tinnitus management, and hearing aid prescription. ENT Specialists (Otorhinolaryngologists) are medical surgical doctors governed by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) who treat ear infections, structural disorders, head and neck tumors, and perform surgical operations.
Requirements differ by clinic and by service, and audiologist.my does not set or check them. Ask the clinic when you call. If your hearing dropped suddenly, or you have ear pain, discharge, bleeding or dizziness, see a doctor or the ENT department of a hospital first.
